Vacancy: Piezoelectric transducers design engineer

LG SOUND is currently recruiting for a Primary Design Engineer of Transducers to reinforce the R&D team, based in The Netherlands

Description
LG Sound is a leading international manufacturer of ultrasonic algae control units founded in the Netherlands in 1999. Our objective has always been to reduce or eliminate harmful chemicals in our environment. Therefore we have developed a chemical free technology that controls algae and biofilm without disturbing the natural balance within water ecosystems.
In the course of the last decade, over 10.000 LG Sonic products have been successfully installed in different applications such as natural water surfaces and industrial water that suffered from algae or biofilm problems. With a team of multidisciplinary experts, LG Sound manages to keep at the edge of the market by holding worldwide approved certificates, patents and know-how for the algae control ultrasonic technology under the trademark LG Sonic®.
Your work in our R&D team will focus on the design of transducers for our ultrasonic water treatment products. Our company works intensively with European research projects (FP6, FP7), in which your responsibilities will be project management and technical management. Through cooperation with biologists, ecologists and customers you will determine system requirements and manage system-level efforts such as subsystem integration, manufacturing, test strategy development and system validation.
Qualifications:
  •   Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Acoustics or a related discipline is required.
  •  A minimum of 2  years of hands-on experience in the engineering design and prototyping of piezoelectric transducers or piezoelectric devices is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of piezoelectric materials and generators
  • Communication skills: You possess good verbal and written communication skills in English to effectively collaborate with other disciplines within the company.
  • Ability to clearly write, read, analyze, and comprehend complex engineering documentation, project plans and schedules, technical specifications, scientific and technical journals.
  • You have the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with customers.

San Alfonso del Mar, Chili Largest swimming pool of the world!

San Alfonso del Mar seawater swimming pool is the largest swimming pool of the world made by Crystal Lagoons Corp. (www.crystal-lagoons.com).

It is 1.013 metres (3.324 ft) long, contains 250 million litres of water and has a surface area of 8 hectares (19,77 acre), it was completed in December 2006. This lagoon is equivalent to 6.000 standard-size (8-meters (27 ft.) long) swimming pools. It holds the 2007 Guinness World Book of Record, for the largest swimming pool of the world.

LG Sonic® systems, custom made for Crystal Lagoons.

After San Alfonso del Mar was made, many visitors were attracted to this lagoon. It was a great success, but, Crystal Lagoons Corp. was not completely satisfied yet. Crystal Lagoons Corp. wanted to still fine-tune the system’s water quality and clarity. They needed a system that could control the amount of algae and helps improve the water clarity in an environmentally friendly, efficient and cost-effective manner.

LG Sound (www.lgsonic.com) manufactured custom made LG Sonic® systems with the specifications of Crystal Lagoons and the compatibility with the Crystal Lagoons unique technology. This LG Sonic system was build in such a manner that a synergistic water treatment effect is also induced when combining this with the patented water treatment system of Crystal Lagoons Corp. After two years of research, Crystal Lagoons Corp. installed 13 LG Sonic® systems custom made for Crystal Lagoons Corp. in the San Alfonso del Mar Lagoon. Crystal Lagoons is very satisfied with the results.Projects of similar and larger dimensions are now in different stages of development.

MPC-Buoy
The patented MPC-buoy combines online water quality monitoring, telemetring and ultrasound technology to provide the state-of-the-art treatment against algae and cyanobacteria in ponds, lakes and dams. by making use of efficient solar panels, the MPC-Buoy will work autonomous, 24/7 worldwide.

Interactive Algae & Cyanobacteria control

1: Monitor water quality

MPC-Buoy provides a complete overview of the water quality by collecting the following parameters:
  • Chlorophyll α (green algae)
  • Phycocyanin (blue-green algae)
  • pH
  • TSS
  • Dissolved oxygen
  • Temperature
2: Predict algae blooms

Collected data is delivered real-time through radio, 3G or GPRS telemetry. MPC-View is a web based software, that provides a clear overview of your water quality and other technical parameters. Based on these data, a bloom can be predicted a few days ahead.

3: Control algae

With help of the MPC-View software, the most optimal ultrasonic program can be determined based on the present type of algae or cyanobacteria. If the MPC-View predicts a bloom, the LG Sonic’s will be set to a different program. This way, LG Sonic controls algae interactively without risking algae to become resistant to ultrasound with a range of 500m (1650 ft) diameter
